Geneva Township regular meeting, April 26th, 2006.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mills at 7:30 p.m. Those present were Mr. Mills, Mr. Pruden, Mr. Russell and Mr. Long. On a motion by Mr. Russell, second by Mr. Pruden minutes from the previous meeting were approved with a couple of minor changes. Mr. Pruden made a motion, Mr. Russell seconded unanimously approved the payment of bills in the amount of $16,730.60 covered by warrant numbers 10984-11013.

Mr. Schupska gave the road dept. report. He indicated that ditching is continuing on Wheeler Creek Rd. We’ve received more cinders, also maintenance on both the 97 and 99 truck. He indicated that new catch basins have been constructed and the signs were erected within the township. Mr. Russell reported he will contact County Engineer, Tim Martin for specs on paving an estimated 5000 feet of Wheeler Creek Rd. It was also suggested that we request the county to provide a bid to do cold patching using cold mix on Wheeler Creek Rd. They do have the facilities to do that.

The County Prosecutor has verified that the drainage problem on Austin Rd. declared an emergency in the minutes of our last meeting, it was well within our authority. We received a request from a citizen in respect to reduced speed limit on N. Myers from the tracks to Route 20, Mr. Pruden will check and see if this is possible. Mr. Russell will check with Janice Switzer in respect to the Addison Rd. bids.

Mr. Cerjan gave the zoning dept. report. He indicated 2 permits have been issued, one on North Ridge East for a new roof and one on Addison Rd. for a 20x16 storage shed. He also indicated the Ashtabula County Building Dept. indicated that there is property on N. Ridge W. behind the storage shed, that there is a possibility of a house being built there. Mr. Cerjan checked it out and did find a hole, however no construction has started, the county will have a stop permit ready in the event the house has begun to be built.

The EBAY business on Padanarum Rd. is shut down. It is no longer in operation.

Contact has been made with the owner of the cars stored near the underpass on Route 20, he indicated he will remove them. Mr. Cerjan checked on the van on Myers Rd., it has been turned around, he will check to see if it has been licensed. The vehicles at Martha Ave. were still there, no movement has taken place and no one answers the door when he visits the property. He will pursue the matter further. Mr. Cerjan supplied some pictures of water problems on Padanarum Rd., he will talk to the owner of the property next door as well as Jim Welker from Soil and Water and try to resolve the problem.

On a motion by Mr. Pruden, second by Mr. Russell unanimously approved Resolution #2006-04, it is a resolution proclaiming opposition to the TEL or TABOR amendment on the 2006 ballot.

A discussion took place in respect to future CDBG Grants, after the Countyline Rd. waterline is there a possibility of hooking Maple Ave. into it. Another possibility is paving of New London Rd. between 534 to Austin Rd.

County Trustee meeting was held in Austinburg on April 20th, members of the HMO from University Hospital made a presentation. There was also a presentation made on the new Metro Parks .40 Levy on the ballot on May 2nd and a demonstration on the new voting machines to be used by Ashtabula County this year.

Mr. Pruden pointed out that Geneva Area Community Days will be held on May 13th, 2006 at Memorial Field on Eastwood St.

We have received a reply from the prosecutor in respect to the contract with T-mobile and the cell tower, it had been forwarded to T-mobile, they will make the necessary changes and return a new contract.

Northwest Ambulance had received new equipment and training on how to transfer obese patients.

Bob Russell presented a proposal from Geneva City in respect to an aerial study for the sewer system. It was noted that bids on the Countyline Water Project will be let in June of 2006.
