Geneva Township regular meeting, March, 9th, 2011. The Trustees returned from Executive Session at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mills at 7:35 p.m. The bidders for stone were represented by only one bid and that was Kinder Morgan. Their bid for #57 was $18.34 per ton, for #8 - $18.44, 304 and 401 - $16.50 a ton. The Trustees then went into the regular session. Those present were Mr. Mills, Mr. Pruden, Mr. Russell, Fiscal Officer Long and Zoning Inspector Cerjan. Minutes from the previous meeting were approved on a motion by Mr. Pruden, seconded by Mr. Russell. Bills in the amount of $61,216.49 covered by warrant numbers 14773-14838 were approved on a motion by Mr. Pruden and a second by Mr. Russell. Mr. Cerjan gave the zoning report. He indicated a Used Car Lot application was requested on N. Ridge W. He indicated that it appeared that they wanted to scrap cars for parts. It does not fit into our Zoning Code since it appeared that what would happen would be ultimately it would become a junk yard. He also indicated he had issued a permit for a pole barn on Austin Rd. Also Randy Brooks had purchased North Center Tavern, it has yet to determine what he is going to do with that property. Mr. Schupska gave the road dept. report. He indicated that they had ordered new 50 and 60 foot side poles. They have been doing some cold patching as weather permits. He also indicated the Cemetery is presently using the old pickup truck while theirs is being repaired. It was pointed out by Mr. Russell that the State Budget cuts could cause a problem with funding for the Issue 1 Project. Mr. Russell then made a motion, seconded by Mr. Pruden unanimously approved the hiring of Denny Crawford and Bob Aultrman as summer help. It was indicated that the culdisac work on Tuttle Rd. will be done this spring. Tim Martin will be evaluating that project. On New London, at Austin and Myers a bridge is being raised and mileage is changed by Tuttle Rd. Also a question on Romeo Dr. since the area has been purchased by the Gun Club. Also it was pointed out that the State has not reimbursed us for the damage on Maple Ave. during the bridge that was out on N. Ridge W. Mr. Russell made a motion to accept the stone bid made by Kinder Morgan, it was seconded by Mr. Pruden. Roll call, Mr. Russell – yes, Mr. Pruden – yes, Mr. Mills – yes. Mr. Russell pointed out that the Fire Contract negotiations is on going and that during the recent storm we did have some problems with flooding as most people did in the area. Especially the north end of Wheeler Creek, it is very soft and a problem did occur in that area. The Marc’s Tower should be completed soon at the Training Center. A discussion on the NOPEC Grant took place. We still have $25,000 coming from NOPEC. As soon as the electrical is complete we should apply for that remaining portion of it. It was pointed out that Denny Crawford will be the Fire Fighter of the Year. We did purchase 500 Code Red minutes from the County. It was indicated that on Walter Main Rd. they have cleaned up some of the tires. EPA is pushing the cleanup. It was indicated that there was a joint meeting with the State Park, the Border Patrol and Communication response in the area. ODNR will require annual meetings. The Zoning Board review of the new Zoning Code will be taking place in the near future. A transfer of Liquor License on N. Ridge W., Mr. Russell made the motion not to object, seconded by Mr. Pruden unanimously approved. Mr. Pruden brought up the issues with the Labor Camp from last year. Mr. Cerjan will follow up on that when they open in the near future. May 21st , from 8-12 will be the cleanup date. Township residents can bring their items to the landfill. Proof of residency will be required. On a motion by Mr. Pruden, seconded by Mr. Russell, the Trustees returned to Executive Session at 8:40 p.m.
