Geneva Township regular meeting, Feb. 14th, 2007. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mills at 7:32 p.m. Those present were Mr. Mills, Mr. Pruden, Mr. Russell and Mr. Long. Minutes from the previous meeting were approved as presented on a motion by Mr. Russell, seconded by Mr. Pruden. Mr. Pruden made the motion, Mr. Russell second the payment of bills in the amount of $57,592.42 covered by warrant number 11577-11662. Mr. Mills gave the road dept. report. He indicated that we have been plowing the roads, moving the berms back and trying to control drifts. Additionally we have been spreading salt and cinders, we have received good comments on the condition of our roads during the period of snowfall. To date we have used an estimated 491 tons of salt. Mr. Pruden made the motion, Mr. Russell seconded entering into a contract with T-Mobile for electricity at $100.00 a month. It was pointed out that recently a road dept. worker, Jim Berhenne took care of a down phone line and reported to the phone company. Mr. Pruden indicated that the Vo-ed students will be awarded Township Certificates at the VICA meeting. Mr. Pruden made the motion, Mr. Russell seconded the Concord Rd. equipment bid on the new truck body, which includes a stainless steel box and spreader. The amount, $45,723.36 through the State Purchasing Program was approved as presented. Mr. Russell indicated he had also received a number of calls about the good job on the roads. About 50% of the pipe on Addison Rd. has been started, Mr. Russell requested we add onto our website about cleaning the snow near fire hydrants in the event of a fire, accessibility is important. Mr. Russell also pointed out that the Lake Rd. drainage problem which was designed by County Engineer, Tim Martin, will probably be done weather permitting. Zoning Dept. report indicated that the S. Countyline Rd. cars are still there, Ron Cerjan, the Zoning Inspector has not been able to contact the owner. There were indications that the lot split based upon state regulations has been accepted, also an indication that an ambulance company was coming in from out of town and was going to be located in Geneva Township on Rt. 534. Fiscal Officer Long gave a report on his recent attendance at the OTA Conference where he received his certification, a certificate of Public Investment Management. He also indicated that the FEMA closeout packet had been received from the floods of last summer. Mr. Long presented the mat proposed in conjunction with the new carpet and it was unanimously approved to go forward with that project. Mr. Long also presented the bid for the replacement of doors in the Township Building, it was indicated that we should obtain a second bid on that project. It was reported that the County Trustee’s Meeting will be held on Feb. 15th, 2007 at the County Engineer’s office. A report on the meeting with Geneva on the Lake on the CETA arrangement, Mr. Pruden indicated we should have a public meeting to discuss proposals from Geneva on the Lake and the developer. Mr. Long will establish a dialog with Geneva on the Lake in respect to an agreement. Mr. Russell indicated that the NAD Opticom being installed has run into some problems with some of the switch boxes within the city. Mr. Russell also indicated that the Corp of Engineers have been given the go ahead for the Countyline Rd. water project. Ms. Debbie Caranci indicated that they are pursuing the possibility of a Pratt B. Spencer Museum in the area. Mr. Russell made the motion, it was seconded by Mr. Pruden to go into Executive Session to discuss possible litigation. The Executive Session began at 8:55 p.m.
